So, apparently I'm back. I'm trying to draw a little, and I'll be posting those here. So far it's Doctor Who fanart. I'd like to eventually feel confident enough in my drawing skills to try to illustrate bits of the Big Finish audio stories, but who knows. First I'm just going to focus on random sketches and maybe some things based on crazy conversations over on Tumblr.

Today is Jerry Garcia's birthday. He died when I was ten. I think it's the only time I cried at a celebrity death. The Grateful Dead was my favorite band as a kid. They've influenced a lot of my tastes. I have a strange affinity for bands whose lyrics don't make much sense. I like a bit of surrealism. Anyway. I was at the last concert, Chicago 1995, before Jerry died, decked in my little handmade tie-dyed T-shirt. My sister and I were the most adorable little deadheads. It was a family tradition to go to the concerts every summer. I think that one was my fourth. Jerry, you were an important part of my childhood. We all miss you.

I've been up at my grandmother's house for over a week, taking care of her since she fell and bruised herself up pretty badly. I'm starting to itch for my Photoshop. I brought my laptop along, but all it has is Paintshop Pro, which, while not a bad program, isn't as nice. I also can't get it online to get pictures, and don't have a way to get things from this computer to it. Why didn't I bring my flashdrive? WHY? Anyway, I feel kinda artsy, but can't do my graphic design things. I could slap something together from the Heroes screencaps I have saved on there, but, eh. In other news, I got a haircut today. I feel so pretty!
